The rumor mill is back to high speed spinning in Bollywood! According to the latest B-town buzz, Deepika Padukone has dumped Ranbir Kapoor for her “Karthik Calling Karthik” co-star Farhan Akhtar!

The much-married Farhan refuses to comment on Ranbir and Deepika.

According to Farhan, there’s nothing to clarify about his friendship with Deepika. “Nobody suspects when I SMS my film director or my director of photography. But somehow, if you SMS your co-actor, people start raising eyebrows. I don’t get affected by it as people will say what they have to say,” says Farhan.

Farhan and Deepika bonded well while shooting for Karthik Calling Karthik. And the director has a sweet message for his friend.

There have been numerous instances when actors get so much involved with their roles that they enter the bleak, dark world of depression. Such was the case with Dilip Kumar, when he worked in ‘Devdas’ and Guru Dutt while making ‘Pyasa’. Perfectionist Aamir is said to have suffered from anxiety about his roles and now it is director-actor-singer Farhan Akhtar, who went through a low phase in life while working for his upcoming film, ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’.

Farhan Akhtar plays an intense character in the film and in order to do justice to the role, farhan  locked himself in his house for eight days and refused to meet or interact with anyone to prepare for his role.

After realizing that he was losing his balance, Farhan took a two-week long holiday overseas and hit the gym, to come back to his normal self. Now, the actor is much better and he is making sure that he keeps up with his family and friends.

Farhan Akhtar is all set to bring out a yet another fabulous project. But this time it will be quite different with the rest. For, there is nothing Indian to it! Farhan has planned to take-up a Hollywood venture, ‘Sid’, complete with Hollywood cast! And it’s going to be an anti-war oriented subject.

‘Sid’ will be directed by Abhishek Kapoor, of ‘Rock On!’ fame, and written by Ashok Kumar Banker, the scriptwriter of Ramayan. The writer had earlier written a book titled Gods of War, but this movie won’t be the remake of the book and it would be quite different movie, said the writer.

International biggies are queuing up to work with the Maestro from Madras, AR Rahman, but our desi actors are yet to realise his genius as they carelessly put aside opportunities to share the stage with him. And one such airy star is Farhan Akhtar, who turned down a personal invitation from the Oscar winning musician to sing a track for ‘Blue’.

According to the latest Bollywood news, Rahman much too eager for Farhan to sing for a track named ‘Fiqrana’ in ‘Blue’. So much so was the musician looking forward to Farhan singing that he had even composed the track keeping in mind Farhan’s range and style..

But the actor gave Rahman a rude shock when he decided to state a firm ‘no’. Disappointed by the actor’s attitude Rahman then asked Vijay Prakash of ‘Yuvvraj’ and ‘Swades’ fame to sing the track.

Confirming the news, ‘Blue’ director Tony D`Souza said, “We were very keen to have Farhan sing for us. But he couldn`t. So we got Vijay Prakash for ‘Fiqrana’”.

Bollywood actor/director Farhan Akhtar has isolated himself from rest of the world to write the screenplay for the sequel of “Don”.

According to a source, Farhan Akhtar is in competition with his father Javed Akhtar, to write an equally good script.

“Farhan is in competition with his own father. Trying to equal, let alone better what Javed Akhtar wrote in the first Don, is not an easy task. He has to get the writing right to make the sequel a worthy successor to the remake of the original Don”, a source said.

According to Farhan’s business partner Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan is completely involved in writing the screenplay of “Don 2”.

Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone were made to dance on the streets of Kochi when they were shooting there recently for their film Karthik Calling Karthik. A group of 20-25 youngsters landed at the Kochi Fort where they were shooting and did not allow them to shoot until both Deepika and Farhan danced with them to the tunes of Rock On!!.

Farhan and Deepika, who are both extremely shy, refused at first. However, the crowd went crazy and did not allow them to shoot. They started making a noise and they were so loud that it was impossible to concentrate on the shoot. Finally both of them had to agree. The crowd piped down and left only after Farhan and Deepika danced for at least 10 minutes with them.

The competent director-actor-singer Farhan Akhtar was in for a pleasant surprise at the sets of his movie ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ when well-known Hollywood director, Ang Lee, visited the sets.

Multi-talented Farhan was shooting for the movie when Lee surprised everyone on the sets with his presence and showed interest in the project.

Farhan has always admired Ang Lee’s work in Hollywood and was immensely excited to have a chat with the director.

Farhan Akhtar is certainly a busy boy with not only acting projects but also a new film as a producer and he is getting ready to work on his next project as director. He is working on Kartik Versus Kartik as an actor; he will be producing Abhishek Kappor’s next film and his directing project? Well, that is the highly, highly anticipated sequel to his hit Don that starred Shah Rukh Khan.

In fact Akhtar is not only directing Don 2, he is also writing the script and two newcomers who are also Don fans join him.

After Hello (based on One Night at the call centre) the latest is that Chetan Bhagat’s most recent novel The 3 Mistakes Of My Life will also be adapted into a motion picture and this time the makers are none other than Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment.

The film will be directed by Abhishek Kapoor who earlier directed the super-hit Rock On.

The film’s title and cast is yet to be decided upon and is likely to go on floors towards the end of this year or early next year.

Shah Rukh Khan is set to do dangerous stunts in Don 2, his forthcoming film.

In fact Don 2 will be the first Indian film to be shot In Dublin.Says the producer Ritesh Sidhwani, “We’re very much going ahead with the original cast Shah Rukh, Priyanka, Boman Irani, Arjun Rampal and Om Puri.Only those who died in the original won’t return, obviously.”

Also, for obvious reasons, this time there won’t be a double role for Shah Rukh. What he will be be doing is, some of the most heart-in-the-mouth stunts ever done by any leading man and certainly SRK’s most audacious actioner yet.
