According to reports Farhan said about the date of Don 3, “Right now, I have no plans for directing ‘Don 3’, although SRK wants me to get going with the next as soon as possible.

Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor are finalised for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s much talked biopic ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’.

The filmmaker for long was searching for suitable cast for the project which is based on the famous athlete Milkha Singh. And yes, the talented, all-rounder Farhan will play the title role while Sonam supports him as the film’s leading lady.

For preparing himself for the role, Farhan is said to have travelled Punjab to meet the Milkha Singh and his family.

Soon he will take up training sessions to boost up his body and fitness for the movie, which is expected to go on floors in February 2012.

After the success of Vikram Bhatt’s Haunted 3D, every other filmmaker in B-town is planning to either make or convert his film in 3D format. The latest buzz is that Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment are planning to release their eagerly awaited Shah Rukh Khan starrer Don 2 in 3D.

After seeing a few 3D conversion tests, the duo was convinced that Don 2 in 3D will only further enhance the impact. Needless to say, foreign technicians will be working on the 3D conversion process. Don 2 will be released in Hindi and dubbed in Tamil and Telugu as well. The film opens worldwide on Dec 23.

Audiences have loved him as the happy-go-lucky Imraan in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD). And now, filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar is looking at a novel way, literally, for bringing his next acting venture to life. To be directed by Rock On director Abhishek Kapoor, Farhan will star in an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel, The 3 Mistakes Of My Life.

The 37-year-old contends that he won’t have much time for anything besides the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Don 2 in 2011.

Farhan, who started off as a director with the cult hit, Dil Chahta Hai (2001), tasted success with his acting debut in Rock On (2008). He then went on to act in sister Zoya’s first directorial film, Luck By Chance (2009), and Karthik Calling Karthik (2010).

Actor-director-producer Farhan Akhtar has said that he’s eager to do a film with Salman Khan, the only Khan among the top three he hasn’t worked with. So far he has worked with Aamir Khan (Dil Chahta Hai) and Shah Rukh Khan (in Don and Don2) but is yet to do a film with Sallu Bhai. Farhan is said to have approached Salman twice over the last few years for scripts that were thought well suited for the Dabangg star.

He said that his banner will continue to approach Salman, but it would be Sallu’s prerogative whether to accept the offer or not. Farhan says the two had literally grown up together, even though they were not the best of friends. But he is very close to Salman’s brothers, Sohail and Arbaaz.

The first teaser of Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 2′, the follow up to his 50 crore 2006 hit, ‘Don- The Case Begins’, are all said to be revelaed with his sister Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara’ on July 15.

He probably is one of the busiest men in Bollywood right now. Not only is Farhan Akhtar sitting in the director’s chair for the sequel to his huge hit Don, he is producing several big films and add on to that he is also starring in sister Zoya Akhtar’s second film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. No wonder we haven’t heard much from him lately. He recently talked with Subhash K Jha about his upcoming projects. Here are some highlights from that interview.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is an ensemble piece starring Farhan, Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, which is scheduled to release in May. According to Farhan, ZNMD ‘is about three guys on the verge of making commitments in life’.

Farhan Akhtar was born in Mumbai to screenwriters, Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani. He was brought up as an atheist.He did his schooling from Maneckji Cooper School, Juhu, and later joined H.R. College, for a degree in Commerce, though he left it, in the second year.

His stepmother is the actress Shabana Azmi. He is also the grandson of Urdu poet Jan Nisar Akhtar and the cousin of Bollywood film director and dance choreographer Farah Khan. His sister, Zoya Akhtar, recently made her directorial debut with Luck By Chance, in which Farhan was the main lead. Farhan is married to Adhuna Bhabani Akhtar, a hairstylist who runs BeBlunt Salon with her brother. They have two daughters: Shakya and Akira.
