The action thriller film has crosses 100 crore mark at the Indian Box Office in second week.

Farhan, who is busy promoting the film in various parts of the country, responded with, “Thanks Hrithik. You’re support since the DCH (‘Dil Chahta Hai’) days has given wind to what could have become a flagging sail. Mucho respeto amigo (sic)”

It’s an action film of another level in Bollywood. I am more angrier in this one. I’ve done a lot of fist fighting that I didn’t do too much of in the earlier Don. I went through intense rehearsals for my action with guidance from Farhan and Shah Rukh who often pulled my leg.

The King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan and his upcoming film Don 2 The King is Back, media’s attention has been growing with the controversy of copyrights making headlining news but the makers of the film maintain that they have prooved nothing wrong with the Don 2.  SRK has this week come out to defend his film saying that there is no way anything is copied as the original Don never had a sequel.

After the success of Vikram Bhatt’s Haunted 3D, every other filmmaker in B-town is planning to either make or convert his film in 3D format. The latest buzz is that Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment are planning to release their eagerly awaited Shah Rukh Khan starrer Don 2 in 3D.

After seeing a few 3D conversion tests, the duo was convinced that Don 2 in 3D will only further enhance the impact. Needless to say, foreign technicians will be working on the 3D conversion process. Don 2 will be released in Hindi and dubbed in Tamil and Telugu as well. The film opens worldwide on Dec 23.

The first teaser of Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 2′, the follow up to his 50 crore 2006 hit, ‘Don- The Case Begins’, are all said to be revelaed with his sister Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara’ on July 15.

Hrithik Roshan flew off for Berlin for a hush-hush shoot the film in question being Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2 – The Chase Continues. Says a source, “Recently, there was buzz about Hrithik joining in Shahrukh Khan’s birthday celebrations as he’s extremely close to King Khan. While that may be true, the real reason for Duggu’s departure to Berlin is being kept under wraps. Apparently, producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani were keen that Hrithik do a special cameo in Don 2.”

Adds the source, “Roshan’s character is a stylised one with interesting shades and they felt only he could do justice to it. But Farhan and Ritesh want to keep Hrithik’s role hidden till the film’s release as it’s one of the highlights of Don 2. Duggu is very close to Farhan and Ritesh (he acted in Farhan’s Lakshya, made a special appearance in Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance and is also in Zoya’s next Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara) and he couldn’t refuse them.”

First he decided to remake an old hit, Amitabh’s film Don. He gave it a twist in the tale and left room for a sequel. Which probably makes Farhan Akhtar the first Indian director who is making a sequel to a remake of a film.

But the director doesn’t feel the pressure he felt while making the remake earlier. Farhan says, “There was always this pressure whether we would be able to match up to the 1978 Don because it was a cult classic.” But for the sequel, Farhan is not feeling the pressure. “The treatment is going to be different in this film. The original inspired me enough to want to make a sequel.”

Farhan Akhtar has immersed himself in making the sequel to his film Don. Farhan’s Don, starring Shahrukh Khan, was a remake of the earlier Don, starring Amitabh Bachchan. The film, was a box office blockbuster. However, Arjun Rampal was supposed to be among the star cast of the sequel, but a few days into the project, Farhan showed Arjun the door.

The director has selected the handsome hunk Kunal Kapoor as the worthy replacement of Arjun Rampal. Now Kunal Kapoor who shot to fame with Rang De Basanti, will be essaying one of the new characters in the sequel.

Bollywood actor/director Farhan Akhtar has isolated himself from rest of the world to write the screenplay for the sequel of “Don”.

According to a source, Farhan Akhtar is in competition with his father Javed Akhtar, to write an equally good script.

“Farhan is in competition with his own father. Trying to equal, let alone better what Javed Akhtar wrote in the first Don, is not an easy task. He has to get the writing right to make the sequel a worthy successor to the remake of the original Don”, a source said.

According to Farhan’s business partner Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan is completely involved in writing the screenplay of “Don 2”.
